Rounding Cape Horn by Sailing Yacht
12 days - Apr-May - From US $ 6,895

The world-famous expedition yacht, Pelagic Australis, will be making two twelve-day cruises through the Beagle Channel from Puerto Williams to Punta Arenas (Chile) including a rounding of Cape Horn if weather pemits. This is a relaxing cruise in one of the most spectacular areas in the far south. All navigation except for an overnight offshore passage around Cape Horn, will in inshore waters and every night will be spent at a dramatic anchorage.
On this two week voyage, you will be navigating uncharted channels and fjords of Tierra del Fuego, and enjoying varied activities such as trekking, diving, and horseback riding. You may visit Yendegaia, one of the most remote estancias (ranches) in South America, or make a visit to Estancia Harberton, settled by the first European missionaries in the area.
The diversity of the land animals, birds and marine life is one of the main attractions of Tierra del Fuego including abundant waterfowl (including the flightless Steamer Duck), penguins, birds of prey (the Andean Condor), seals and guanaco. The flora is an interesting mix of beech forest and spaghnum bog with many flowering plants and edible berries in season. You will have ample opportunity to search ashore and underway for these natural highlights.
