Discover the mystery and magic of Iceland while riding the famous and sure-footed Icelandic horse on the black and gold sand beaches in western Iceland. Riding the wonderful Icelandic horse in its native land is a glorious experience. These hardy, winsome horses are delightful mounts and their gait, the tölt, is ideally suited to the rugged terrain of Iceland. You will ride along the famous Löngufjörur horse trail that sits on the seashores of the Snæfellsnes peninsula where only the ocean’s tide will dictate how much open space you and your horse will have to canter over. Along the way, you can marvel at the beauty of lava fields--some of which have encroached upon the golden sand, turning it a volcanic black.

During this four-day adventure, you will gaze upon the beautiful mountains that rise in the distance, and will listen as the guides tell of the mystical Snæfellsjökull Glacier. In literature and folklore, it is the entrance to the center of the Earth and home to trolls, elves, and fairies. More than anywhere else, the peninsula is where you can experience all that Iceland has to offer, and create memories that you will never forget.
